Well done to Daisy Dewsbury, Jessica Humm, Josh Scott, and Oliver Munn, our 4 swimmers who raced at the Swim England Winter Nationals 2022 this weekend.

Day 1

After an afternoon of travelling, our swimmers were ready to go for this years Winter Nationals.

Heats

First on the block was Daisy Dewsbury in her fun event of the weekend, 200m Butterfly. A strong first 100m set her up for her 3rd fastest performance, a great first race and start to the weekend.

Next up was Oliver Munn, our international swimmer from Sweden, competing for the first time in a BWSC hat! Oliver had a great 50m Breaststroke, slightly improving his PB and placing 10th in the Junior Final later in afternoon. After a short turnaround, he was then up in 100m Individual Medley, again setting another PB!

Jess Humm, who after being out the pool for the past 2 weeks, raced a strong swim, just missing her PB but placing 10th in her age group.

Finals

Oliver was ready to make his mark in his debut UK final. A strong first 15m secured Oliver a 3rd place finish, a personal best time but also a new Junior British Record!

A great end to the first night in Sheffield.

Day 2

Heats

The morning’s heats started with Oliver and Josh in the Men’s 100m Breastroke. Both swimmers had strong swims with Oliver qualifying for the Junior Final and Josh with his 3rd fastest time.

Next up was Jess in the Ladies “Splash and Dash” (50m Freestyle). A solid swim secured her a top 10 finish in the 16/O age group.

In her last race of the weekend, the Ladies 100m Butterfly, Daisy secured a top 15 place in her age group!

Jess rounded out the session with her “fun” race, Ladies 100m Individual Medley, completing the event in a quick time.

Finals

Oliver had a tough battle in the final of his favourite race: 100m Breaststroke. But a strong 3rd 25m saw him take the win with another British Junior record and a new PB!

Day 3

Heats

The final morning saw Oliver up in the 200m Breaststroke. A comfortable heat swim saw him ease his way through as the second fastest Junior but also qualify for a place in his first Open final.

Jess gained some great racing experience in the Ladies 200m Freestyle, the final heat of the weekend for Bracknell.

Finals

In the last race for Bracknell this weekend, Oliver was up in a competitive Mens 200m Breastroke Open Final. With a strong backend he placed 7th with a new PB and became the 3rd fastest junior!

A great weekend from all our swimmers. Time to enjoy a well-earned Christmas break!
