About Us

About Us

Bracknell and Wokingham Swimming Club founded in 1961 and affiliated to the ASA South East Region and are one of the friendliest competitive swimming clubs in the south of England.

Our aim is for all members to achieve to their maximum potential, while at the same time having fun.

Based at the Bracknell Leisure Centre, and regularly train at pools in the Ascot, Bracknell, Sandhurst, and Aldershot district we cover a 10 mile radius of Bracknell.

The main activity of the Club is competitive swimming and we have eleven squads in the main section of the Club. If youngsters are not ready for a place in one of the main performance or competitive squads then we are able to offer places in one of our Academy classes. We also have a Masters Squad and many people compete in Masters events from County, Regional, National and European level.

If you are interested in joining our club, please book a water assessment by completing the enquiry form on the Contact Us page.

The Club is managed by the Management Committee, which is elected each year at the Annual General Meeting, and governed by The Club Constitution.

We have a coaching team of 11, led by our Chief Coach, David Brazil. Alongside David, we have 2 Level 3 coaches, 5 Level 2 coaches and 1 Level 1 coach as well as 2 Level 2 Teachers and poolside helpers.

Bracknell & Wokingham is not the biggest club in Berkshire, but we have a large and enthusiastic group of swimmers of all abilities and enjoy substantial support from parents, friends and the local business community in terms of sponsorship. In recent years, we have had an impressive record of success, with Club Honours both in leagues and at county level, as well as individual Club members competing at Regional, National and International level. Most recently with two members of the club representing Great Britain and Gibraltar at the World Short Course Championships in Canada.
