Every year we hold an Annual General Meeting where we review the current state of the club and elect members to stand on the Committee for the following year. This event is usually held at the Bracknell Leisure Centre and is open to all club members. If you are at all interested in influencing the future of the club, you are welcome to put your name forward to become an elected member.

The following is a brief description of each of the roles on the committee.

President

This role is given to a person who has been associated with the club for many years and is prepared to act as a figurehead for the club. His main duties are to present awards and give speeches etc.

Vice President

The Vice Presidents main duties are to influence the decision making processes at the monthly meetings. They also have an in depth knowledge of swimming.

Chairman

The Chairman hosts the monthly committee meetings and also arbitrates any disagreements that may arise.

Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for keeping track of the clubs finances and ensuring we have sufficient funds for the future running of the club.

Secretary

The secretary is responsible for taking minutes at the committee meetings and should be the main point of contact for Swim England and other outside bodies.

Squad Representatives

These members represent the views of the main squads at the monthly meetings and bring up any points requested by their swimmers.

Elected Members

These members are elected onto the committee at the Annual General Meeting. They attend the monthly meetings and they have voting rights.

Co-opted Members

These members can be elected onto the committee at the Annual General Meeting or at any other time. We can have up to 3 co-opted members at any time. They may attend the committee meetings but they do not have voting rights. Any member of the club who is 18 or over can request to become an elected member or co-opted member.

Occasionally subcommittees are formed from the current committee members to focus on specific areas such as finance, sponsorship or the annual open meet.
