Heats

The second weekend of the Age Group Regionals saw our buzzing 14 and unders raring to take on their races.

First up saw Edith and Sophia in the ladies 50m Backstroke, as ever the sprint races are close and after some competitive heats both swimmers swam some of their best times this season with Edith being rewarded with a space in her age group final. In his First event Stirling went on to swim to swim the 50m Freestyle, just missing his pb but would later go onto his 100m backstroke setting his second best time.

In the girls 100m Freestyle, Edith swum her 3rd fastest time of the season setting her up ready her final later. Noah was our only swimmer to take on the boys 200m butterfly, with a gutsy swim he got an amazing 3 second pb!

Finals

With what was sure to be a close final, Edith swam a 33.12 in the ladies 14 years 15m backstroke final, placing 7th.

Sunday

After a super first day, the sprints started us off for day two. Ollie Thorpe had a great 50m Breaststroke, just off his PB but taking valuable race experience from his successful first regionals. Ava Truswell carried on her PB streak from last weekend, gaining a PB in the ladies 50m Butterfly with Edith joining her in this event.

Stirling stormed his heat in the Boys 200m Backstroke, gaining a 3 second PB. Michaela, in her first regionals and swim had a well fought race, just missing her pb. Finally Zac and Noah raced in the boys 100m Butterfly, Zac just missing the final but becoming the 3rd fastest 11 year old. Noah joined him getting a 2 second Pb in what has a been a 100% Pb rate for his first regionals.

A massive well done to all our age group swimmers stepping up this Regionals and taking on the challenge.

Now to see who has made nationals!
