Saturday 13th November, saw Bracknell and Wokingham Swimming Club competing in the 2nd round of the National Arena League. After a successful first round the team were looking to improve on their 3rd place position and set themselves up for a competitive lane for the final gala. The evening saw a tremendous team effort, with supporting teammates always at the end of the lane always cheering on the racing swimmer. The gallery, filled with an incredibly supportive crowd, gave the swimmers the spirit to race hard and fast.

A big congratulation must go to those swimmers who achieved first place on the night. These swimmers were:

  • Daisy Dewsburry: Open 100m Butterfly
  • Jess Humm: 15/U 100m Backstroke & Open 100m Freestyle
  • Edith Hamilton: 13/U 100m Backstroke & 100m freestyle
  • Zachary Callinan: 11/U 50m Butterfly
  • Maya Hartwell: Open 100m Breaststroke
  • 15/U: 4x50m Free & Medley relay

With some hard fought races and gutsy swims from all swimmers, the team was rewarded with a second place finish! We now wait to see who we will be racing against in the third and final gala of this year’s National Arena League.
