LIFESAVING EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS IN ITALY

James Blaby has been selected by Great Britain Lifesaving to be in the Great Britain Open Team to compete at the 2019 Lifesaving European Championships in Riccione, Italy.

A team of six male and six female athletes were selected from the Great Britain Lifesaving Squad representing clubs from Surf Life Saving GB, Surf Life Saving Wales and the Royal Life Saving Society UK.

The Open Team was selected by Gary Lee, GBR Pool Coach and Lloyd Rosewell, GBR Ocean Coach, and verified by Simon Perry (SLSA Wales) and Rob Phillips (SLSGB) and confirmed by the One Team Advisory Group.

James was selected through his achievements, he got 3 national individual titles in March this year out of 4 individuals swum. He also got 2 national individual records this year (but aren’t official as the meet wasn’t certified) alongside 2 confirmed national relay records.

None of which would have been possible without being part of the masters club or Jim’s coaching for the year he was here!
