Gold medalist and World Record Breaker.
Competitors from 31 countries attended these Championships, held in the open water of Lake Bled with an average temperature of 5 degrees. Warmer than expected!
Bracknell & Wokingham Master Swimmer, Laura Wilcox has been training well for this and achieved her accreditation to compete and entered three events.
Laura’s first event was today, 24th January in the 1000m Freestyle. This was two loops in a controlled area of the Lake. Laura was victorious and in addition she broke the current World Record by an amazing 39.24 seconds.
Tomorrow 25th January, Laura is competing in the 25m Butterfly.
