Swim England Masters National Championships 2022- Day Three

Session seven started with the 50m Butterfly. Greg Adams 15^th, Ian Smith 11^th, Ian Daniell 17^th, Charlie Madden 17^th And Simon Mellor 4^th, so close in time to 3^rd, Simon’s joy however was a club record being broken, well deserved. Laura Cooke achieved another medal, with Bronze in her Fly.

Ian Smith was straight back in the water in the 200m Individual Medley, having already just swam the 50m Fly, this time with the 50m Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle after it. His time was just 0.15 short of his own record too.

The 100m Freestyle followed. Two club records tumbled for Simon Mellor 12^th and Hugh Jones 15^th. Mark Straw finished 11^th with a very respectful time, Jevjgenijs Putans breaking away from Breaststroke finished 19^th, Greg Adams 14^th, Ian Daniell 18^th and Harry Middleton 23^rd. Laura Cooke missed out on another medal, 4^th place in her age group again with an impressive time.

A summary to finish.

Of the 282 Clubs that attended, Bracknell & Wokingham finished 30^th overall with 91 points.

Six relay records and Twelve individual records.

Five Silver Medals and Four Bronze Medals

All the BWSC Masters were grateful that Jim had as ever had the training programme in place to have the swimmers at their best for this event.

Next years event should be on the same weekend 27^th – 29^th October 2023.
