Erith Masters Sunday 13th May

Kirsty Johnston, Jevjenigs Putans and Simon Mellor travelled around the M25 to SE London for the Erith Meet in a very hot pool on Sunday 13th May.
With all three having returned to training and with Kirsty and Jevi already competed and broken club records this year, to attempt to improve these at a very hot pool area was questionable, yet in the 200m Breaststroke, Jevi took an incredible 3 seconds off his own record. He was very close to his own 50m & 100m Breaststroke records too.
Simon could not have been closer to breaking his 50m Freestyle record set in 2020, finishing what must have been the length a few hairs, 0.01. Similar gasps were heard when looking at his other two results, the 50m Fly 0.03 away and the 50m Backstroke 0.03 away.
Kirsty saw that just 0.08 quicker would have equalled her own record in the 50m Backstroke.
Gold for Kirsty in 50 Breast, 50 Fly, 50 Back and 100 Back.
Gold for Si in 50 Fly, 50 Free and 50 Back.
Silver for Jevi in 50, 100 and 200 Breast.
Collectively they were 15th out of the 50 Clubs that took part and to icing on the cake was that Kirsty was “Top Girl” in her age group.
