Saturday October 9th, saw Bracknell and Wokingham Swimming club back competing in the National Arena League, for the first round we took a trip to Wycombe to take on 5 other teams in what was sure to be an evening of close races.

This year the event would run a slightly different format, with mixed relays introduced. This was the first team event clubs have had since COVID-19.

The evening saw a large number of great efforts through all the age groups, from more accomplished swimmers to first time Arena Leaguers. With a cheering crowd and teammates supporting each other the swimmers pulled out all the stops to earn those all important points for the team.

A big congratulation must go to those swimmers who achieved first place on the night. These swimmers were:

  • Jess Humm. 100 Backstroke
  • Edith Hamilton. 100 backstroke and 100 freestyle
  • Ava Truswell. 100 Butterfly
  • Antoni Kepa. 100 Freestyle
  • Ben lucas. 50 Freestyle
  • Zachary Callinan. 50 Butterfly
  • Ethan Donovan. 100 Breaststroke
  • 4×50 Medley Relay, 15 Years and under.

It was great for the coaches to see the swimmers race and more importantly for the swimmers to cheer each other on. Round 2 will take place on Saturday 13th November.
